Cultural Brokers Training Session at Westman Immigrant Services

The Brandon Local Immigration Partnership (BLIP), in collaboration with Cultural Brokers, supported the delivery of a Cultural Brokers Training session at Westman Immigrant Services (WIS).

The training focused on strengthening the capacity to better support newcomers by deepening their understanding of cultural brokering. Participants explored how cultural brokers act as bridges between clients and service systems, helping to build trust, improve communication, and reduce barriers to accessing services.

Through practical discussions and real-life examples, participants gained valuable tools to enhance day-to-day interactions with clients, particularly in navigating areas such as healthcare, education, and community services.

This initiative reflects BLIP’s ongoing commitment to building a more inclusive and responsive service environment for newcomers in Brandon.
